Stedelijk Museum Breda's contemporary art collection (1960 - present day) consists of some 800 artworks. The artists all have a link to Breda. They were either born here, have studied, lived or worked here (or still do so), or have made work featuring the town and its residents. Dec. 2016. Good museum for the standard museum exhibition of Brenda's part in the 80-years war, which was done well, though could be modernised a little. The temporary photo exhibition was very interesting indeed. A shame the local government forced the museum to merge with the MOTI, which has a very different remit.

This museum is spacious, with friendly, helpful staff. Free entrance with the annual Dutch museum pass. The museum has two expositions on display: the permanent exposition about the history of Breda and a variable exposition; in the time frame of our visit this was an exposition about the village of Dongen and the various painters who got their inspiration there in the 19th century.
