Dusky, also known as Blue Grouse live where the elk live and their seasons cross over, which makes them convenient for camp snacks. Before getting into the recipe, I just want to share my stories of these grouse, and my first bow kills. My first grouse was on opening day of archery season.

Remove the bacon and saute the grouse in the bacon grease until they are browned on the outside. Wrap each breast with a slice of bacon and place in a roasting pan. 1⁄8 teaspoon paprika. 2 tablespoons margarine. Mix flour, salt, sugar, allspice, garlic, and paprika in a wide bowl or pan. Dip grouse pieces in flour mixture to coat.
