Joy Division, Wire, The Cure, Gang of Four etc. With hindsight 78-82 was a golden period for groundbreaking albums. But for me the ultimate statement of the era is Metal Box. Well it's certainly up there as one of the best - looking back it's quite amazing how quickly music evolved. And I agree that the 78-82 is a wonderful period for music.
